Dear Members of the Iowa Utilities Board,

My name is Victor Miller. I am a farmer from Fayette County, served as President of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, and served as Chairman of the U.S. Grains Council. In my many years of experience, I have learned to take into consideration the concerns of those around me, especially those in my area of work. Summit Carbon Solutions provides a solution to the low-carbon fuel standards that are increasingly common. Corn farmers, ethanol producers, and our state’s economy depend on a strong ethanol industry and Summit’s pipeline will allow all to thrive as the fuel market changes.

Without the assistance of carbon capture technology, farmers risk the ability to sell their products at a valuable market price, and ethanol will lose business to its low-carbon opponents. Summit Carbon Solutions is a win-win for the farmers and ethanol producers that scatter our state, both need the innovation that Summit provides to stay viable as their industries change.

The future of Iowa’s corn depends on carbon capture technology. As someone who will be impacted by this decision, I assure you that the pipeline is a safe and reasonable way to combat the issues that face Iowa’s corn producers and buyers. I ask that the Iowa Utilities Board consider the benefits that Summit’s pipeline could have on the state.

Sincerely,

Victor Miller
