Carbon Capture projects present significant economic opportunities that can greatly benefit our state. Firstly, by investing in a robust carbon capture, utilization, and storage infrastructure, Iowa can showcase its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while attracting government incentives and new businesses. This not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also stimulates economic growth, creates jobs, and positions Iowa as a leader in the renewable fuels sector.

Additionally, if the carbon intensity score of ethanol isn’t lowered, facilities in Iowa will face severe challenges in the coming years. The ethanol industry needs this technology to remain viable, without it our economy will suffer.

These carbon capture projects will enhance the competitiveness of Iowa’s ethanol industry in domestic and international markets, attracting investment and creating a sustainable source of revenue for our state.

Lowering the carbon intensity score of ethanol in Iowa aligns with the global trend towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. This opens up new markets and trade opportunities, ensuring the long-term viability and profitability of Iowa’s ethanol industry.
