Dear Board Members, Huser, Lozier, and Byrnes:

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. As the mayor of Clarion, Iowa, I’m eager to support projects that will spur economic development and support businesses in the community.

CORN, LP is a major employer in the area that supports our schools, community, and farmers across the region. We must support them in return, and right now, their most significant focus is sustaining their plant’s success as low-carbon standards become the status quo.

The plant will accomplish this by utilizing carbon capture and sequestration technology. They partnered with Summit Carbon Solutions; an agricultural-based company that will help them meet this goal.

Summit and CORN, LP’s partnership will result in major economic development in Wright County. Summit will pay millions in property taxes, and CORN, LP will continue purchasing corn at high rates to meet the market demand for low-carbon fuel. Summit will also hire thousands of skilled laborers to construct the project, bringing thousands of dollars into local businesses around Clarion and Eagle Grove.

Please consider supporting this project.

Kind Regards,
Rod Heiden
Mayor of Clarion
Transportation Manager at Gold Eagle Cooperative.
