Dear Members of the Iowa Utilities Board,

I am writing to express my support for Summit Carbon Solutions and their proposed carbon capture project. Anyone invested in the welfare of our state’s agriculture sector or those promoting ways to stabilize local economies should consider that Summit’s project holds immense potential for the betterment of both.

Summit Carbon Solutions’ endeavor is undoubtedly a game-changer for agriculture. The project’s ability to help the ethanol industry reduce its carbon intensity score in order to reach more profitable markets while maintaining productivity is commendable. The bottom line is that the more ethanol succeeds, the more Iowa succeeds. Summit’s proposed investment in this industry will ensure that ethanol can continue being an economic pillar in Iowa for several years.

Moreover, the implementation of this project would lead to substantial economic growth and job creation in Iowa. The construction phase alone will require skilled labor and stimulate local businesses, bolstering our state’s economy. Additionally, the long-term operation and maintenance of the carbon capture infrastructure will create stable employment opportunities, providing livelihoods for countless Iowans.

Lastly, I would like to extend my gratitude to the Iowa Utilities Board for scheduling Summit Carbon Solutions’ hearing in August. This demonstrates the board’s commitment to thoroughly evaluating the merits of this project and ensuring the date meets the best interests of Iowa’s landowners who want to participate.

In conclusion, I urge the Iowa Utilities Board to carefully consider the immense benefits that Summit Carbon Solutions’ project offers to our agriculture sector. I trust that you will make a well-informed decision that aligns with the best interests of our state.
